The President of the Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), Mr. Rangalal Halder, has called upon the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to address the long-standing issue of creating Graduate Trained Teacher (GTT) Computer Science posts in the region.

In a letter to the Lieutenant Governor, Mr. Halder expressed concern over the 15-year delay in establishing these posts, emphasising its impact on both educators and students. He highlighted that qualified computer science educators in the islands have been left without appropriate opportunities, forcing many to take low-paying jobs outside their specialisation.

“The absence of GTT Computer Science posts has not only deprived qualified professionals of meaningful employment but also hindered students in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from accessing quality education in an essential subject,” Mr. Halder stated.

He urged the administration to act swiftly, underlining that the creation of these posts is vital for addressing the career aspirations of local educators and ensuring students receive the education they deserve.

The ANTCC President appealed for immediate intervention, calling it a critical step toward improving the educational framework and overall development of the islands.
