Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) President, Mr. Rangalal Halder, has formally requested intervention from the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to resolve severe power outages in Hut Bay, Little Andaman. The power supply has been poor for the past 15 days, causing significant hardship for the local residents.
In his letter, Mr. Halder underscored the critical nature of the situation, stating, “The ongoing power outage has not only caused significant inconvenience but has also severely disrupted the daily lives and livelihoods of the villagers.”
Mr. Halder highlighted that, despite numerous complaints and requests submitted to the relevant authorities by the affected villagers, there has been no substantial progress in restoring the power supply. This prolonged outage poses a grave risk to the well-being and safety of the residents, especially the elderly, children, and those requiring medical care.
“The lack of a reliable power supply has led to increasing frustration and unrest within the local community,” Mr. Halder added.
In his urgent appeal to the Lieutenant Governor, Mr. Halder stressed the immediate need to deploy necessary resources to restore the power supply at the earliest possible moment, emphasising the urgency of the situation.
The prolonged power outage continues to be a significant issue, impacting the daily lives of the residents of Little Andaman, Hutbay, and prompting calls for swift action from the authorities to alleviate the crisis.
