Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) President Rangalal Halder has urged the authorities of ANIIMS to introduce a special consultation facility for patients above 70 years of age visiting GB Pant Hospital.

In a letter addressed to the Director of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), Halder highlighted the difficulties faced by senior citizens while waiting in long queues for medical consultations at the hospital.

He stated that elderly patients often find it physically challenging to stand for extended periods to consult doctors, surgeons and specialists due to their age and health conditions.

Halder requested that patients above the age of 70 years be allowed to consult doctors and specialists without waiting in long queues after completing the basic registration process. According to him, allowing such patients to directly enter the consultation chamber would significantly reduce the physical strain on elderly patients and help them receive timely medical care.

He further urged the Director of ANIIMS to issue necessary instructions to the concerned authorities at GB Pant Hospital to make suitable arrangements in the interest of senior citizens in the islands.
