The President of the Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee, Mr. Rangalal Halder, has formally urged the Chief Secretary of the A&N Administration to organise blood grouping camps in all Panchayats across North & Middle Andaman, Little Andaman, Campbell Bay, and in other areas of the Nicobar Islands.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Mr. Halder emphasized the importance of creating a comprehensive database of residents’ blood groups. He stressed that such an initiative would enhance healthcare preparedness and improve emergency response capabilities across the islands.
Highlighting the challenges faced by residents in remote areas with limited healthcare facilities, Mr.. Halder pointed out that delays in accessing compatible blood during medical emergencies could be life-threatening. “This initiative could streamline medical response times, enable quicker assistance in crisis situations, and contribute to the overall health and well-being of the people,” he stated.
Mr. Halder also called for the Administration to issue an official directive to implement the program, underscoring its potential to strengthen the public health framework in the region.
