Anti-Narcotics Police Seizes 540 Grams of Ganja from Joda Kalan in Port Blair; One Woman Arrested

The Anti-Narcotics Police Station in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands successfully carried out an operation against drug-related activities, highlighting their ongoing commitment to eradicating narcotics from the region. Acting on precise intelligence, a team led by Inspector Pritam Behari, Station House Officer of the Anti-Narcotics Police Station, and comprising Sub-Inspector Mohd Rahil Islam and staff members Vishal Kumar, S. Nanak Singh, Ratan Das, M. Raja Rao, and Nandita Mistry, executed the operation under the supervision of Mr. Vishesh Dhatterwal, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Narcotics).

During the raid, the police apprehended a 25-year-old woman, identified as Mitali Halder, residing in Joda Kalan near the local petrol pump. A search of her residence led to the discovery of 540 grams of ganja, hidden inside a green bag within a polythene cover. The narcotics were promptly seized, and the accused was arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

A case has been registered at the Anti-Narcotics Police Station, and further investigations are underway. The operation was conducted under the overall supervision of Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, Superintendent of Police (CID), Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
