Anti-Narcotics Police Station Executes Successful Raid, Seizes Cannabis Plants in Port Blair

In a proactive effort to combat drug trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Police Station in Port Blair executed a successful raid on 19th March 2024, based on specific and credible information. Led by Inspector S. Kannan, SHO Anti-Narcotics PS, a dedicated team comprising of SI Mohd Rahil Islam, HC Sharfudeen, PC Raja Rao, and LPC Nandita Mistry conducted the operation at Telugu Basti, near Sri Ram temple, Old Pahargaon.

During the raid, the team seized 02 cannabis plants weighing 1.750 kilograms from the backyard of the residence belonging to V. Chinnari, wife of late V. Shankar Rao, aged 45, residing at Telugu Basti, Near Sri Ram Temple, Old Pahargaon. Subsequently, V. Chinnari was arrested following due procedure.

The operation was carried out under the command of Mr. Vishesh Dhatterwal, DANIPS, Dy.SP (Narcotics), and under the overall supervision of Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, IPS, SP(CID). A case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act-1985 has been registered at the Anti-Narcotics PS, and investigations are underway.
