The Directorate of Fisheries, Andaman and Nicobar Administration has invited applications for leasing of designated sea areas, as notified by the Department of Fisheries on September 19, 2025, for undertaking Seaweed Farming and Pearl Culture activities.
Eligible applicants include fishers, fish farmers, fish workers, fish vendors, individual entrepreneurs, private firms, Self Help Groups (SHGs), Fisheries Cooperatives, Joint Liability Groups (JLGs), and Fish Farmers Producer Organizations/Companies (FFPOs/FFPCs).
According to the Directorate, the application form, list of designated sea areas, and detailed terms and conditions for undertaking Seaweed Farming and Pearl Culture are available on the official website of the A&N Administration — https://andamannicobar.gov.in/ — and the Department of Fisheries website — https://anifisheries.andamannicobar.gov.in/.
Interested applicants have been requested to submit their applications along with the required documents either physically to the Directorate of Fisheries, Sri Vijaya Puram, or to the respective Zonal Fisheries Offices in South Andaman, North & Middle Andaman, and Nicobar Districts. Applications may also be submitted via email at dirfish.and@nic.in.
The last date for submission of complete applications is November 24, 2025.
