The much-awaited Island Tourism Festival 2024 will take place from December 27 to 31, showcasing a vibrant celebration of Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ rich cultural heritage. Organised by the Department of Art & Culture in collaboration with the Department of IP&T, the festival will feature a series of cultural programs across various venues, spanning South Andaman, North, and Middle Andaman districts.
Key locations for the events include the ITF Main Pavilion, Wandoor, Wimberlygunj, Baratang, Rangat, Mayabunder, Diglipur, Swaraj Dweep, Shaheed Dweep, and Little Andaman (Hutbay), with performances taking place in and around Sri Vijaya Puram.
To make this celebration a success, the Department of Art & Culture has invited applications from local cultural organizations across the islands. Interested groups are required to submit the details of their proposed programs. Each cultural organization should prepare a minimum of three programs, with each performance consisting of at least 20 minutes for dance and 45 minutes to 1 hour for singing. This ensures that the Program Selection Committee will have a range of options for the final selection.
The prescribed application format can be collected from the Directorate of Art and Culture at Cellular Jail Complex, Atlanta Point, Sri Vijaya Puram, or downloaded from the official website at https://andaman.gov.in. Completed applications should be submitted in person or emailed to artand.culture@and.nic.in by 4 PM on December 5, 2024. Late submissions will not be entertained.
As part of the preparation, selected participants are required to conduct a full dress rehearsal on December 6, 2024, starting at 10 AM at Andaman Club.
For any further queries, cultural organisations can contact Mr. Sujit Kumar Roy, GTT (F/A), at 9933241678 during working hours.
