APWD Organizes Water Concert Programme to Promote Water Conservation at Ferrargunj

The Road Construction Division (RCD) of the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD), Wimberlygunj, recently organized a Water Concert Programme at the Ferrargunj School Ground with the aim of creating awareness among the general public about zero leakage and water conservation.

The programme began with a briefing by Executive Engineer Ali Mumtaz, who highlighted the importance of conserving water and stressed the need for judicious use of available water resources. He also sensitized the gathering about the growing need to prevent wastage of water and urged the public to promptly report leakages in water supply systems.

As part of the awareness initiative, students from Marthoma School and MES School presented skits and dramas highlighting the significance of water conservation and the importance of maintaining zero leakage in water supply systems. Their performances effectively conveyed the message of responsible water usage and the need for collective efforts to protect this vital resource.

The event also featured a musical night that added vibrancy to the programme and helped engage the audience while reinforcing the message of water conservation in an entertaining manner.

During the programme, members of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) present on the occasion shared their views on the importance of conserving water and emphasized the need to prevent water leakages at all levels. They also appreciated the efforts of the RCD team for organizing an awareness programme aimed at educating the public.

The programme was attended by Superintending Engineer Er. U.K. Singh, Pradhan Ferrargunj Sunil, Pradhan Mithakhari Shafique, Zilla Parishad Member Ferrargunj Basheer, and Zilla Parishad Member Brindaban Aziz.
