In a bid to alleviate physical and mental stress among Police personnel and optimize their performance, the Armed Police Unit at the Police Line, in collaboration with the Global Academy of Modern Fitness, conducted an interactive 5-day physical and mental fitness program from July 17th to July 21st, 2023.
The initiative saw approximately 100 police personnel partake in a comprehensive training regimen that encompassed Yoga, Meditation, Aerobics, Laughter Therapy, Martial Arts, and Unarmed Combat Exercises. Led by MS Murugan from the Global Academy of Modern Fitness, the program aimed to not only improve physical fitness but also enhance mental focus and overall well-being.
Throughout the 5-day program, the participating officers actively engaged in various fitness activities, fostering camaraderie and teamwork. The interactive sessions allowed them to explore the benefits of different exercises and relaxation techniques to reduce stress and achieve optimal mental clarity.
As part of the event, women’s self-defence techniques, with live demonstrations and interactive sessions were also conducted to equip female officers with effective tools to protect themselves in challenging situations.
Coordinated by SI Balwinder Singh and Inspr. Sahil Shamsuddin from the Police Line, the fitness program garnered enthusiastic participation from the entire police force. The program was held under the overall supervision of Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, APU, who provided valuable guidance and encouragement throughout the event.
