In a bid to promote the adoption of digital health services under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), the Programme Management Unit (PMU), ABDM has been conducting a series of awareness campaigns across all three districts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The initiative aims to inform and empower citizens about the benefits of the digital health ecosystem, with a special focus on creating Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA), promoting the Scan & Share feature, and linking personal health records for seamless access to healthcare services.

As part of the outreach, the PMU has been organizing card generation drives in both urban and remote rural areas, including educational institutions, Gram Panchayats, hospitals, and other public spaces. The drives involve direct engagement with the community through on-the-spot creation of ABHA IDs and personalized assistance to help citizens understand the advantages of digital health IDs.

To further enhance awareness, the PMU has also initiated pamphlet distribution at high-footfall locations such as bus terminals and ship ticket counters across the islands. These pamphlets highlight the usage of the Scan & Share feature for OPD registration and list ABDM-enabled hospitals where the facility can be utilized by the general public.

This sustained effort is expected to significantly boost public participation and streamline access to digital health services under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission in the Union Territory. (Story Based on PR)
