Awareness-cum-Summer Camp for Children of Child Care Institutions Empowers Young Minds

In a bid to foster overall growth of children residing in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) across South Andaman, the State Child Protection Society (SCPS), under the Directorate of Social Welfare, orchestrated an enlightening Awareness-cum-Summer Camp at Chinmaya Mission in Port Blair.

The session commenced with an insightful discourse by Dr. Rekha, a distinguished Specialist in Ayurveda hailing from AYUSH Hospital. Dr. Rekha elucidated on the pivotal role of health and hygiene in one’s life, stressing the importance of embracing healthy practices for the holistic development and well-being of the attending children.

Following Dr. Rekha’s discourse, Dr. Nitin Shakya, the Director of Social Welfare, underscored the significance of concentration in both academic accomplishments and personal growth. His words resonated deeply with the audience, highlighting the essential nature of focus in achieving success and self-improvement.

The event further saw notable speakers contributing their wisdom to the eager listeners. Mr. Rakesh Chandra Lall, a renowned News Reader from All India Radio, shed light on the indispensable nature of effective communication skills. Swami Shuddhananda, representing Chinmaya Mission, offered a spiritual perspective by elucidating on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, emphasising the importance of virtuous conduct and ethical behaviour.

Adding another layer of insight, Ms. Komal Anand, the esteemed Founder of Pankh NGO, enlightened the participants on the significance of time management for maximising productivity and efficiency in daily endeavours.

Mr. A.K Biswas, the Nodal Officer of SCPS, extended a warm welcome to all attendees, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings. Ms. Rehaneth Begum, Program Manager at SCPS, concluded the event with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all contributors and participants for their invaluable contributions towards nurturing the young minds.

The Awareness-cum-Summer Camp stood as a beacon of empowerment, instilling knowledge, values, and skills vital for the holistic development of the children, promising a brighter future for generations to come.
