Awareness Program on Child Rights and Health Organised at PM SHRI GSSS Prothrapur

A special awareness program focusing on Child Rights, Health, and Nutrition was organized at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Prothrapur on 10th September 2025. The initiative aimed to educate students on critical issues affecting their health, safety, and overall well-being.

The first session of the program featured Ms. V. Jyotimani, ANM, who spoke to the students about adolescence and issues related to menstrual hygiene. Ms. Nilofar Bano, Call Operator at CHL, provided information on important helplines including Child Help Line (1098), Women Helpline (181), and Senior Citizen Helpline (14567). She encouraged children to speak out against violence and use these toll-free numbers to report any incidents.

During the second session, Ms. Hemlatha, Gender Specialist at SHEW, addressed gender issues and stressed the importance of equality among teenagers.

Dr. Nitu Sindhu, State Mission Coordinator at SHEW, highlighted the significance of the HPV vaccine in preventing cervical cancer, genital warts, and other cancers in both men and women. She also emphasized the nutritional benefits of superfoods such as moringa and jackfruit in combating malnutrition among adolescents.

The session concluded with Ms. Jyoti, SI, PS Pahargaon, who spoke about the dangers of drug abuse and motivated students to focus on their studies for a brighter future.
