An awareness program focused on identifying and supporting children with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) was organized at Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS) Diglipur on Monday. The program, designed for teaching and non-teaching staff of Primary and Upper Primary levels in the Diglipur Educational Zone, aimed to raise awareness about SLD, early identification, and appropriate interventions for affected students.
Under the guidance of the Block Project Officer, the event brought together educators to discuss the characteristics and signs of SLD, equipping them with tools to promote inclusive education practices. Ms. Kakoli Dey, Principal of PM Shri GSSS Subhash Gram, Diglipur, inaugurated the program as the chief guest.
In her address, Ms. Dey emphasized the importance of early detection of learning disabilities and encouraged the teaching community to foster an environment where students with SLD can thrive through specialized support and interventions.
The session underscored the need for collaborative efforts between teachers and the community to ensure that children with learning difficulties receive the care and resources they need to succeed.
