Awareness Programme for Girl Students Held at Diglipur Police Station Under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’

An awareness programme aimed at empowering young girls was recently conducted at the Police Station in Diglipur under the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ initiative. The event was organized for the girl students of Government Senior Secondary School, Diglipur, with a focus on educating them about the functioning of the Police Department and their legal rights.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Diglipur Police Station, Mr. Vijay Kumar, delivered an informative session on the various services provided by the Police Department. In addition, Sub-Inspector Ms. Kannagi shed light on critical topics such as crime prevention, key laws, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, highlighting the legal protections and support systems available to the students.

As part of the programme, the students were given a guided tour of the police station, providing them firsthand knowledge about the purpose and functions of different sections. Addressing the students, Ms. Indira Devi, Child Development Project Officer, Diglipur, emphasised the vital role of the Police Department in maintaining law and order and reducing crime rates.

The initiative was well-received and served as a valuable platform to inspire and educate the young participants about their rights and responsibilities, while fostering trust and awareness about law enforcement in the community.
