Awareness Programme for Labourers on Women’s Rights and POSH Act Held at Delanipur

The State Hub for Empowerment of Women, under the Department of Social Welfare, in collaboration with the Labour Department, organized an awareness programme for women labourers at Delanipur Community Hall. The session, aimed at educating participants on their rights, entitlements, and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, witnessed the participation of around 50 women.

The programme emphasized creating a safe and respectful working environment for women. Ms. Vijita Devi, Labour Inspector, addressed the gathering and informed the participants about various labour rights and welfare schemes available to them.

The provisions of the POSH Act were elaborated upon by Dr. Nitu Sindhu, State Coordinator, along with Ms. Hemlatha and Ms. Deepa Laxmi, Gender Specialists. They discussed different forms of workplace harassment and explained the procedures for filing complaints under the Act.

The event concluded with an interactive session, allowing participants to clarify doubts and engage in meaningful discussions about workplace safety and their legal protections.
