The Scheme Hub for Empowerment of Women aims to facilitate inter-sectoral convergence of schemes and programs meant for women at the Central (NHEW), State/UT (SHEW), and District levels (DHEW), with the mandate to create an environment in which women can realize their full potential.
An awareness program on the theme ‘Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita’ was recently conducted under the Scheme Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW) in the conference hall of the Directorate of Industries. The program was attended by officers from the Directorate of Social Welfare & Police Department, staff from the ICDS Project, Poshan staff, HEW staff, and key stakeholders.
Ms. Rasheeda, an Inspector from the Police Department, provided valuable insights into the ‘Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita’, highlighting its significance and implications. The resource person elaborated on various aspects of the law, ensuring that the attendees, including front-line workers and members of the public, were well-informed.
Mr. Ashok Kumar Biswas, a Probation Officer (JH), provided further information on the topic, enhancing the participants’ understanding of the law’s practical applications. This session was particularly informative for front-line workers and the general public.
Further emphasizing women’s empowerment, Ms. Reeta Devi, a Welfare Officer (Women), discussed the importance of women’s empowerment in society and explained common legal acts (Dowry, Domestic Violence, etc.) that protect and promote the rights of women. She also emphasised the importance of spreading awareness about the law at the grassroots level and encouraged women to actively participate in this dissemination of information.
Earlier, Ms. Zarina Bibi, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) from the ICDS Urban Project, welcomed the gathering.
