An awareness programme on drug abuse and prevention was successfully organised at Bambooflat-I Gram Panchayat on 26th May 2025, under the banner of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The event was a collaborative effort by the Directorate of Social Welfare, the Anti-Narcotics Division of the Police Department, and the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA).
The programme focused on sensitizing the local community to the dangers of alcohol, tobacco, and drug abuse, highlighting their detrimental effects on individual health, family relationships, and the broader social structure. Speakers from participating organizations stressed the importance of early intervention, community awareness, and grassroots participation in addressing substance use disorders.
Information about available support services, rehabilitation initiatives, and assistance for affected individuals and families was shared during the session. Villagers were urged to take an active role in promoting a drug-free environment within their homes and neighbourhoods.
The programme concluded with a collective call to action, underlining that a healthier and safer society can only be achieved through sustained collaboration and shared responsibility among all members of the community.
