Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse Held at Shore Point Under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

An awareness programme focusing on drug abuse prevention and safe society building was held at Shore Point Gram Panchayat on May 3 under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan initiative. The event was jointly organized by the Directorate of Social Welfare in collaboration with the Anti-Narcotics Unit of the Police Department, the Health Department, and the Integrated Rehabilitation and Counselling Centre for Addicts (IRCA).

The programme drew active participation from local residents and panchayat members, reflecting a growing community interest in combating substance abuse. During the session, experts addressed the harmful effects of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, while underlining the power of collective community action in fostering a safer and healthier environment.

Speakers emphasized the importance of awareness, early prevention methods, and the critical role of support systems in rehabilitating affected individuals. The event also featured an interactive segment where participants could voice their concerns and seek guidance, encouraging open dialogue around the issue.
