The Branch MSME-Development & Facilitation Office (Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India), Sri Vijaya Puram, in collaboration with the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, organized an awareness programme on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme at the Community Management Training Centre, Ferrargunj. The event aimed to reach out to prospective and existing beneficiaries of the scheme, including traditional artisans and craftspeople from 18 identified trades.
Over 105 potential beneficiaries participated in the programme, representing various trades covered under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. The primary objective of the programme was to boost enrolment in districts where participation has been low, despite the availability of eligible beneficiaries.
A technical session was also conducted during the programme, during which a detailed presentation was given to the participants, explaining the key features and benefits of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
The PM Vishwakarma Scheme is designed to empower traditional artisans and craftspeople by providing them with financial assistance, skill upgradation, and other support to enhance their livelihoods.
Such initiatives are expected to create greater awareness and ensure the benefits of the scheme reach all eligible beneficiaries across the islands.
