Awareness Programme Organised on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan & Central Welfare Schemes at Haddo

Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Port Blair organised an Awareness Integrated Communication Outreach Programme on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan & Central Welfare Schemes at Community Hall, Ward No.1, Haddo on 16th November 2022.

Mrs. Kavitha Uday Kumar, Chairperson, PBMC while delivering her address as the Chief Guest said that Govt. under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi has successfully been running various schemes like PM Ujjwala, PM Kisan, Har Ghar Jal etc. to uplift the status of common masses. She added that we should all be aware and get benefitted from these schemes.

Mr. Aziz Ur Rehman, Sr. Vice Chairperson, PBMC in his speech said, Govt. led by PM Narendra Modi has schemes for every section of society. He urged citizens to keep themselves updated about these schemes through the internet. He added that Govt. is taking the issues of the people seriously and welfare schemes have shown a positive impact on the lives of the needy. Mr. Aziz Ur Rehman during his speech emphasised on Jal Jeevan Mission, he informed that people are getting safe drinking water now and A & N Islands has done a good job in Jal Jeevan Mission and achieved 100% target.

Mr. Shahul Hameed, Ward Councillor, Ward No.1, PMBC emphasised on the importance of cleanliness in daily life and urged his fellow citizens to be aware of the importance of keeping the surroundings clean. He shared his experience of visiting Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu as part of an exposure tour. He urged the citizens of Port Blair to take personal efforts to keep the city clean.

Earlier, Mr. K. Anandha Prabu, Field Publicity Officer welcomed the gathering and Mr. M.Murali, Technical Assistant delivered the vote of thanks.  A painting competition for students was also organised and the winners were awarded during the function.
