The Branch MSME-Development & Facilitation Office (Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India), Sri Vijaya Puram, in collaboration with the A&N Administration, organized ‘Awareness Programmes on PM Vishwakarma Scheme’ at two locations in North & Middle Andaman.
The first programme was held on February 10, 2025, at the Conference Hall of Rampur Gram Panchayat Bhawan, Mayabunder, followed by a second session on February 11, 2025, at the Conference Hall of the Assistant Commissioner’s Office, Diglipur.
The initiative aimed to increase the outreach and enrolment of potential beneficiaries under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, particularly in districts with low enrolment in specific trades despite the presence of prospective beneficiaries.
During the event, a technical session was conducted, featuring a detailed presentation on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, highlighting its benefits and eligibility criteria. The session emphasized the importance of the scheme in empowering traditional artisans and craftspeople by providing financial support, training, and market access.
The programmes witnessed good participation from local artisans and tradespeople, who were encouraged to avail the benefits of the scheme by registering as beneficiaries.
