As part of the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, an awareness-cum-seminar was recently organized at the Delhi Paramedical and Management Institute (DPMI), Sri Vijaya Puram. The event was conducted by the Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA), South Andaman District.
The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students and faculty members of the institute. Dr. M.K. Mahato, Medical Officer at IRCA, South Andaman, addressed the gathering on the harmful effects of alcohol and substance abuse. He also highlighted preventive strategies and encouraged youth to adopt a drug-free lifestyle.
As a symbolic gesture of commitment, all attendees took a pledge to stay away from substance abuse.
