Bambooflat Police Rescues Three Minor Boys from Drowning

In a swift and commendable response, the team of Bambooflat Police successfully rescued three minor boys from a potential drowning incident between Bambooflat and Chatham Jetty.

On 6th June 2025, at 1250 hrs, a Tally Clerk from the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS) informed Police Station Bambooflat that three individuals were seen struggling in the waters between the two jetties. Responding with utmost urgency, a team led by SI Manoj Lal along with HC Zubair, PCs A. Ali, Ummer Farooque, and Mohd. Basheer (IRBn) of PS Bambooflat immediately proceeded to the location aboard a PMF boat.

The police team successfully located and brought all three boys safely ashore. The minors, residents of Shore Point, Bambooflat, were promptly given medical attention and, after examination, were handed over to their respective guardians.

Subsequently, it was found that the boys were school students who had ventured into the sea to enjoy their vacation and were accidentally pulled in by strong waves.

The South Andaman District Police commended the alertness of the DSS staff and the prompt coordinated action of the police team of PS Bambooflat, which averted a tragic incident.

The South Andaman District Police urges all parents and guardians to guide their children to enjoy holidays safely, emphasizing the importance of adult supervision in such adventures.
