A Beach Cleanliness Drive was organized by the Panchayat Samiti Office, Ferrargunj, at Shoal Bay-19 on November 30 as part of ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness and preserve the natural beauty of the region’s coastal areas. The event was attended by several key figures, including Executive Officer Mrs. Lalita Tigga, Pramukh Ms. D. Padmawathi, Up-Pramukh Mr. Simson, Pradhan of Shoal Bay Mr. A. R. Kumar, and Panchayat Samiti Members from Kanyapuram, Wimberlygunj, Bambooflat-II, Shoal Bay, Mannarghat, and Mithakhari.

The drive saw enthusiastic participation from the staff of the Panchayat Samiti Office, Ferrargunj. In total, 30 bags of waste were collected, which included 22 bags of plastic items such as disposable glasses, tin cans, paper plates, and other plastics, along with 8 bags of glass bottles.

To complement the cleaning efforts, a short awareness session was conducted, where participants were educated on the harmful effects of plastic pollution and the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling waste.

“Beaches are the pride of our region and a lifeline for biodiversity. Together, we can ensure that our beaches remain pristine for generations to come,” said a representative from the Panchayat Samiti.

This initiative is part of a broader vision to build a cleaner and greener future for the community. The Panchayat Samiti plans to organize more such events and urges everyone to actively participate in future cleanliness drives.
