PRI Members, Govt. Servants from all Departments, Defence Personnel and General Public came together early on Friday morning to clean up the beach near Fish Landing Centre at Campbell Bay.
The beach cleanup drive was organised as a part of ‘Let’s Beautify My Campbell Bay’ Campaign initiated by Dr. Nitin Shakya, Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay.
The beach will reportedly be used for conducting tourism activities. Mr. Venkat Rao, Pradhan, GP Govind Nagar informed Nicobar Times that a regular weekend beach festival will be conducted at the beach for the entertainment of locals and visiting tourists.
Mr. E S Rajesh, Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Campbell Bay also participated in the beach cleanup drive and appreciated the efforts being put into the development of tourism in Great Nicobar.
Such initiatives to beautify Great Nicobar and for the development of tourism in the Island will go a long way in generating employment for the youth and will provide a venue for entertainment of the locals and the visiting tourists.
The General Public of Great Nicobar is also appreciating the efforts of the Assistant Commissioner and the PRI Members for the development of tourism in Great Nicobar.
