The Electricity Department, in coordination with the District Administration, South Andaman, has announced the launch of a beneficiary identification drive as part of the 30 MW Solar Rooftop Project being implemented in RESCO Mode under the Utility Led Aggregation (ULA) Model of the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG-MBY).
The initiative aims to promote clean energy while extending relief to economically weaker households through the installation of solar rooftop systems.
Chaired by the Additional District Magistrate (ADM), South Andaman, the drive will focus on identifying beneficiaries already enrolled under three major Government welfare schemes — Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), and Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
To facilitate the process, Special Beneficiary Gathering Camps will be conducted on October 4, 2025 (Saturday) from 10 AM to 3 PM at the following venues:
- Khaitan Kalyana Mandapam, Junglighat
- Ferrargunj Conference Hall, Gandhi Bhawan
- Prothrapur Community Hall
During these camps, officials will collect details such as name, address, and contact number of potential beneficiaries. Representatives from the concerned departments will be present at each venue to verify documents and beneficiary credentials on the spot.
The administration has requested all Pradhans, Revenue Inspectors (RIs), and Patwaris to actively inform and mobilize eligible residents from their areas. Beneficiaries under the above-mentioned schemes are urged to attend the camps and cooperate with officials to ensure their inclusion in the final beneficiary list.
