Bengal Tigers Triumph in SP-Cup Cricket Tournament 2025 Finals at Mayabunder

The North & Middle Andaman District Police successfully concluded the SP-Cup Cricket Tournament 2025 with a thrilling final match and a grand closing ceremony held at Netaji Stadium, Mayabunder on 16th January 2025. The event marked part of the celebrations for the 73rd Andaman & Nicobar Police Raising Day and showcased remarkable talent and sportsmanship.

The tournament, which kicked off on 12th January 2025, saw the participation of 16 enthusiastic teams from across the region. The finals, held on 16th January, were graced by Ms. Nandini Maharaj, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman District, as the Chief Guest, alongside Ms. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.

In the much-anticipated final match, Bengal Tigers emerged victorious against Panipar 10, clinching the prestigious SP-Cup trophy and a cash prize. The closing ceremony also honoured the runners-up, as well as standout performers with awards for Best Player, Best Bowler, and Best Batsman. All participating teams received certificates and trophies in recognition of their spirited participation and sportsmanship.

The North & Middle Andaman District Police expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, organisers, and supporters who contributed to the tournament’s resounding success. Beyond the competition, the event fostered physical fitness, camaraderie, and strengthened the bond between the police and the community.

The police also reminded the public to report any credible information regarding crimes or illegal activities to their nearest police station or via helpline numbers 100, 112, and 03192-273344. Informers’ identities will be kept confidential, and they will be suitably rewarded.
