Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh Bats for Implementation of Maintaining Day Book by Clerical and Ministerial Staffs

Mr. Liju Thangachan, State General Secretary, Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh has written a letter to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Secretary (Personnel), Andaman and Nicobar Administration requesting them to force the provision of maintaining ‘Day Book’ by all the Ministerial Staffs/Dealing Clerks woking under various establishments of Andaman and Nicobar Administration.

Mr. Liju Thangachan has explained to the authorities that there is a mandatory and compulsory provision in the Manual of Office Procedure of maintaining ‘Day Book’ by all the ministerial staff/Dealing Clerks woking under the establishments of Andaman and Nicobar Administration. He further went on to add that none of the establishments under the Andaman and Nicobar Administration has implemented or ensured the same.

He further mentions in his letter that the said provision was incorporated in the Manual of Office Procedure of A & N Administration for making all concerned dealing clerks working under various establishments of Andaman and Nicobar Administration more accountable and for improving the efficiency of the administration.  

Mr. Liju Thangachan in his letter further mentions that the Dealing Clerks especially of the public dealing departments, often wilfully avoid and escape their statutory responsibility without any justification, because of which the citizens are deprived of their rights. 

He further informed the authorities that the respective HOD’s of the department should implement the mandatory requirement of maintaining ‘Day Book’ in order to improve the efficiency.

Mr. Liju Thangachan further requested the authorities to intervene in the issue and direct the respective HOD’s of departments to implement the mandatory provision of maintaining ‘Day Book’ by their clerical/ministerial staffs.
