The biannual Coastal Security Exercise Sagar Kavach (A&N)-02/25 was conducted on 13–14 November 2025, coordinated by the Coast Guard Region (A&N). The exercise began at 0600 hours on 13 November along the coastline of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and concluded at 1800 hours on 14 November.

The large-scale coastal security drill witnessed the participation of surface and air assets from multiple Coastal Security stakeholders, including the Indian Coast Guard, Indian Navy, Police Marine Force, Forest Department, Fisheries Department, and several other agencies.

The primary objective of the exercise was to validate the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for coastal security, enhance inter-agency coordination, and assess the collective preparedness to respond to potential threats and contingencies along the coast. Through realistic scenarios and synchronized operations, participating teams successfully demonstrated their operational readiness and communication effectiveness.

Sagar Kavach continues to serve as a crucial platform for strengthening synergy among various maritime and coastal security agencies, contributing to a more robust and resilient Coastal Security architecture for the region.

The exercise reaffirmed the commitment of all participating stakeholders to safeguarding the vast coastline and maritime interests of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
