The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is all set to elect its next State President and National Council Member on 1st July 2025, marking a significant milestone in the politics of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
According to a press release issued by Mr. M. Vinod, the State Returning Officer for the elections, the entire process is being carried out in a transparent, democratic, and fair manner, in keeping with the BJP’s commitment to internal party democracy.
The election notification and voter list have been released on 29th June 2025.
The nomination process will be open on 30th June 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the BJP State Office in Middle Point, Port Blair. Scrutiny of nominations will follow on the same day from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Candidates will have the option to withdraw their nominations between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM on 30th June.
Polling for the new State President and National Council Member will take place on 1st July 2025, beginning at 10:30 AM. The results will be announced the same day.
This election comes at a crucial time for the BJP in the Union Territory, as the party continues to strengthen its grassroots presence and prepare for upcoming political challenges in the region.
