BJP Leaders from Andaman and Nicobar Islands met the Ministers and discussed several issues related to the farmers of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
BJP Leaders discussed the issue of non-procurement of COPRA on MSP at Andaman and Nicobar Islands. They requested the Ministers to take up the issue with the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED) and also with all recognised procurement agencies.

The Ministers patiently heard the issues raised by the leaders from Andaman and Nicobar Islands and after a lengthy discussion, the Minister discussed the issue with the concerned authority of NAFED. The Minister instructed NAFED to immediately form a team and convene meetings with recognised procurement agencies for COPRA and chalk out a plan for procurement of COPRA on MSP from all areas of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The Minister also assured that Arecanut would soon be included as a crop insured under PM Fasal Bima Yojana.
The Minister further informed the leaders that a committee would soon be formed for a detailed survey for proper assessment of the land lost due to soil erosion.
