Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Committee Member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), recently met with Ms. Ranjana Deswal, the Secretary of Civil Supplies, to discuss a pressing issue related to the non-receipt of ration items for certain Family Identity Card (Ration Card) holders. The problem arose due to the lack of linkage between the AADHAR cards of one or more family members and their respective Ration Cards.
During the meeting, Mr. Jolly highlighted the plight of a significant number of residents whose ration supply has been blocked despite some family members successfully linking their AADHAR cards with their Ration Cards. He stressed that it is unjust to withhold ration supplies for the entire family when only a few members have not yet linked their AADHAR cards.
The issue has been causing considerable hardship for families, with the ration items being withheld for no valid reason, despite some members fulfilling the necessary requirements. To address this problem, Mr. Jolly urged the Secretary of Civil Supplies to release the ration items to those members who have already linked their AADHAR cards with their Ration Cards. Simultaneously, he requested the exclusion of the quantity of ration for the members who are yet to complete the AADHAR card linkage.
Responding to the concerns raised by Mr. Jolly, Ms. Ranjana Deswal, the Secretary of Civil Supplies, assured that she would consider the matter seriously and take positive steps to resolve the issue promptly.
