Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands today organised a peaceful dharna at BJP Chowk, Rangat, North and Middle Andaman District to resolve some burning issues of the residents.
The dharna was led by Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands along with Mr. Jyotirmay Bawali, State General Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Selva Kumar, Political Secretary to State President, Mr. Malaiswamy, District President and other senior karyakartas of Bharatiya Janata Party.
The dharna was organised to press for resolving the following issues of the general public of the region:
- Improving the condition of National Highway – 4.
- Providing Hospital Technicians at CHC, Rangat.
- Improving mobile network across North and Middle Andaman District.
- Restarting the ferry service from Port Blair to Rangat via Shaheed Dweep, Swaraj Dweep, Strait Island and Long Island as it was done before.
- Increasing the number of Convoys to six with no vehicle limitations and abolishing the permission system.
- Posting Medical Specialists at CHC Rangat.
Later a delegation led my Mr. Jyotirmay Bawali, State General Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands met Mr. Piyush Singh, Assistant Commissioner, Rangat and explained to him the problems being faced by the residents in detail. The delegation also raised several other issues with the Assistant Commissioner, Rangat.
Assistant Commissioner, Rangat heard all demands and issues raised by the delegation patiently and also resolved a few issues on the spot. He also assured to look into and resolve all other issues raised by the delegation.
The dharna was later called off.
