The State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Mr. Anil Tiwari, visited Shaheed Dweep on July 11, 2025, in a significant outreach effort aimed at strengthening grassroots connections. He was accompanied by the South Andaman District BJP President, Mr. Mohan Halder, and senior party leader Mr. Selva Kumar.
Upon arrival, the delegation was given a warm reception by enthusiastic BJP workers at the Shaheed Dweep jetty. Later, addressing party karyakartas at the BJP office, Mr. Tiwari emphasized unity, commitment, and the need for dedicated service to the underprivileged sections of society in Shaheed Dweep. He urged all members to work with a sense of purpose and responsibility for the welfare of the local population.
In a notable political development during the visit, six Congress workers, including a sitting ward member, joined the BJP. The individuals who switched allegiance are:

– Narayan Das
– Bidhan Biswas
Mr. Anil Tiwari welcomed the new members into the BJP fold and expressed confidence that their inclusion would bolster the party’s presence and influence at the grassroots level in Shaheed Dweep.
