In a recent meeting at Port Blair, Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Committee Member of the BJP, engaged in discussions with Mr. Ramdas Athawale, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.
During the interaction, Mr. Jolly emphasised and deliberated upon two pivotal issues concerning the Islands. Foremost among them was the deplorable condition of NH-4, a matter brought forth by Mr. Jolly. He passionately urged the Hon’ble Minister to intervene at an appropriate level to render the highway motorable, addressing the challenges faced by the local populace due to its current state.
Additionally, the meeting focused on devolution of powers to elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions and their legitimate requisitions. Mr. Jolly articulated these concerns, seeking resolution and support for the genuine demands of these representatives.
Expressing optimism, the Hon’ble Minister conveyed a positive stance, assuring Mr. Jolly that the raised issues were indeed reasonable. He pledged to take prompt action at the appropriate level to address these concerns expediently.
The engagement between Mr. Vishal Jolly and Minister Ramdas Athawale signifies a concerted effort to advocate for crucial matters pertinent to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, aiming for constructive resolutions to benefit the local communities.
