Block Development Office Ferrargunj Conducts Training on ‘Addressing Child Needs through Bal Sabha’

The Block Development Office, Ferrargunj, organized a Block Level Training Programme on Addressing Child Needs through Bal Sabha on Thursday at the CMTC Building. A total of 69 participants attended the programme, including Panchayat representatives, members of the Child Protection Committee, and students.

In her welcome address, Ms. Lalita Tigga, Block Development Officer, highlighted the importance of strengthening community-driven child protection mechanisms, stressing the crucial role of Bal Sabhas in voicing children’s concerns.

The first technical session was led by Ms. Suman Shailaja Barla, Protection Officer, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), who briefed attendees on child welfare frameworks and the responsibilities of stakeholders.

An interactive activity-based session was conducted by Ms. Saakshi Saha, BPM, where participants engaged in communication and teamwork exercises. Prizes were later awarded to the winning group to encourage engagement and participation.

Further, Ms. Agnes, Sub Inspector from PS Ograbrej, conducted a sensitization session on cybercrime and the provisions of the POCSO Act, focusing on preventive measures and legal protections for children in the digital space.

The programme concluded with an interactive session by Ms. Sandhya, Legal-cum-Probation Officer, DCPU, who explained key child protection laws including the Child Marriage Act and POCSO Act, using real-life scenarios to enhance understanding.

The training aimed to empower stakeholders at the grassroots level to promote child safety, protection, and welfare through effective implementation of Bal Sabha initiatives. (Story Based on PR)
