Block-Level Training Programme on ‘Fostering Progressive Rural Entrepreneurship and Poverty Alleviation in Rural Areas’ Held at Ferrargunj

A block-level training programme titled ‘Fostering Progressive Rural Entrepreneurship and Poverty Alleviation in Rural Areas’ was held at the CMTC Building, Ferrargunj, on 16 October. The event saw active participation from elected Women Representatives, Community Resource Persons, and members of various Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

Addressing the participants, Ms. Lalita Tigga, Block Development Officer, Ferrargunj, highlighted the importance of local leadership in driving sustainable development in rural communities.

The programme also featured talks by experts including Dr. Pooja Kapoor, Subject Matter Specialist, ICAR-CIARI; Ms. Deepa Biswas, DE (Livelihood); and Mr. Rakesh Pangat, Deputy General Manager, NABARD, who shared insights on rural entrepreneurship and livelihood generation.

To reinforce key learnings, a quiz competition was conducted by Ms. Saakshi Saha, Block Programme Manager, with prizes awarded to the winning groups.

The initiative aimed to empower rural women and SHG members with knowledge and skills to enhance entrepreneurship and promote poverty alleviation in their communities.
