Blood Donation Camp Marks 41st Foundation Day of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology

To mark the 41st foundation day of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), a blood donation camp was organized at the institute’s Seminar Hall with the support of Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS), the Blood Centre of G.B. Pant Hospital, and the Directorate of Health Services.

A total of 31 units of blood were voluntarily donated during the camp. The initiative was held under the guidance of Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, ANACS and Director, State Blood Transfusion Council, A&N Islands.

Prior to donation, all volunteers were examined for eligibility and counselled on the importance of blood donation. The technical team from the Blood Centre, G.B. Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram, along with ANACS officials, ensured proper screening of the donated blood for transmissible diseases.

Mr. Sanjay Malhotra, Dean (Student Affairs), DBRAIT, coordinated the event and made necessary arrangements for its smooth conduct. Donor certificates were also distributed to encourage and recognise the voluntary donors.
