Bye-Election Held for Various Gram Panchayat Member Constituencies in GP Neil Kendra and GP Laxmi Nagar, Counting of Votes on 17th October

The bye-election for five Gram Panchayat Member Constituencies in the Neil Kendra (Shaheed Dweep) region and one Gram Panchayat Member Constituency in Laxmi Nagar Gram Panchayat under Campbell Bay Tehsil was held on October 15, 2023. Voters from Laxmanpur-1, Ramnagar-1, Ramnagar-2, Bharatpur-1, Bharatpur-2, and Laxmi Nagar Constituencies exercised their democratic rights, with polls open from 8 AM to 4 PM.

The entire electoral process was conducted smoothly and with utmost transparency, ensuring a free and fair election. All the polled materials have been securely stored in identified strong rooms.

The voter turnout in the respective Gram Panchayat Member Constituencies was impressive:

– Laxmanpur-1 (Reserved for Women) – Neil Kendra (Shaheed Dweep) under Port Blair Tehsil – 74.77%

– Ramnagar-1 (General) – Neil Kendra (Shaheed Dweep) under Port Blair Tehsil – 75.47%

– Ramnagar-2 (General) – Neil Kendra (Shaheed Dweep) under Port Blair Tehsil – 75.33%

– Bharatpur-1 (Reserved for Women) – Neil Kendra (Shaheed Dweep) under Port Blair Tehsil – 80.54%

– Bharatpur-2 (General) – Neil Kendra (Shaheed Dweep) under Port Blair Tehsil – 77.65%

– Laxmi Nagar (General) – Laxmi Nagar Gram Panchayat, Campbell Bay Tehsil – 68.45%

With these remarkable voter turnouts, it is evident that residents of these Gram Panchayat Member Constituencies took their civic responsibilities seriously and participated actively in the election process.

The counting of votes for the above-mentioned Gram Panchayat Members will take place on October 17, 2023, starting at 8 AM at their respective counting centres. It remains to be seen which candidates will emerge victorious and represent their respective constituencies in the local Gram Panchayats.
