Campbell Bay, 28 April 2025

On 27th April 2025, residents of Great Nicobar Island, the southernmost frontier of India, gathered to participate in a Candle March to express their solidarity with the families affected by the recent Pahalgam terror attack. The march also served as a strong call for immediate and stern action against Pakistan, which is directly involved in orchestrating and supporting terrorist activities on Indian soil.

The procession began at Zero Point in Campbell Bay, with participants walking to Jetty Bazaar and then returning to culminate the event at Mini Stadium. The march was a show of unity, with people from all sections of society—young and old—participating to demand justice for the lives lost in the attack.

Throughout the event, anger was palpable among the crowd, as protesters chanted slogans such as “Pakistan Murdabad” and “Pakistan Jala Do,” expressing their frustration at Pakistan’s role in fuelling terrorism in India. The residents of Great Nicobar Island, like millions of Indians across the country, are outraged by Pakistan’s ongoing support for terrorist organisations that target Indian civilians and security forces.

The Pahalgam terror attack, which left many dead and injured, is part of a larger pattern of attacks that are being sponsored by Pakistan. The nation is deeply hurt by Pakistan’s consistent efforts to train, harbour, and supply logistical support to terrorist groups with the intention of destabilising India.

The Indian government has assured the public that decisive steps will be taken against both the perpetrators and the supporters of terrorism. The call for action resonates across the country, with citizens demanding a strong response from the government to protect Indian lives and uphold national security.
