Vaccination Campaign for Cattle against Lumpy Skin Disease was started by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services on 19th June 2022 at Great Nicobar. Goat Pox Vaccine, Live I.P., Uttarkashi Strain is being used to vaccinate the cattle against the Lumpy Skin Disease.
Lumpy Skin Disease was found prevalent in parts of Great Nicobar earlier and the Department of AH&VS had released an advisory for the animal owners.
A series of awareness programmes were also organised in different areas of Laxmi Nagar Panchayat by the Department of AH&VS in collaboration with Laxmi Nagar Panchayat.
The vaccine was administered under the supervision of Senior Veterinary Officers of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services. Mr. Prahlad Singh, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Laxmi Nagar was also present during the administration of the vaccine.
