Campbell Bay Police organised a Cyber Crime Awareness Programme for PRI Members of Great Nicobar at Community Hall, Campbell Bay today. The motive of the awareness programme was to sensitise PRI members about the various common cyber crimes and the modus operandi.
During the programme, Mr. Arshdeep Singh Panwar, SDPO, Campbell Bay explained the importance of cyber awareness to the PRI members. He also expanded on various types of cyber crimes such as Cyber Bullying, Cyber Stalking, Online Job Fraud, Sim Swap Scam, Debit/Credit Card Fraud, Phishing, Fake Extortion Calls, KYC Scam, WhatsApp Impersonation, Instant Loan App Scam etc.
SDPO also informed the PRI Members about the action to be taken by the victim of a Cyber Crime.
He asked the PRI Members to encourage youth to volunteer under Cyber Prahari Scheme. He informed that he will train the volunteers personally and will ensure that they are well versed with different types of Cyber Crimes so that they can help the members of society.
PRI Members appreciated the efforts of Campbell Bay Police and pledged full cooperation.
