Car Nicobar Police Busts Illicit Liquor Operation Ahead of Election

In a proactive move ahead of the upcoming General Election, the Car Nicobar Police conducted a significant excise raid on April 4, 2024, in Perka Village, Loop Road, resulting in the destruction of a substantial quantity of Lehan and the seizure of illicit liquor. The operation was meticulously planned based on intelligence gathered by local law enforcement.

Under the leadership of SI J.R Rama Krishna, a dedicated police team comprising PC/730 Hiramani Minj, PC/828 Rahul Kr. Maurya, PC/20 Monika, and PC(D)/2737 Prakash Rao from the Car Nicobar Police Station orchestrated the raid. The operation, conducted with precision, saw the destruction of approximately 600 Litres of Lehan, a crucial component in the production of illicit liquor. The entire process was documented under photographic coverage.

Additionally, the team successfully seized 3 Litres of illicit liquor from Robert Hilton, identified as the son of Mr. Reubani, residing in Perka Village, Loop Road, Car Nicobar. Hilton, 25 years old, was apprehended during the raid.

The Car Nicobar Police emphasised their unwavering commitment to combatting illicit activities on the island. They urged the general public to remain vigilant and report any illegal activities promptly. Assuring confidentiality, the police underscored that the identity of informers would be safeguarded.
