Car Nicobar Police Seizes 76.6 Grams of Methamphetamine in Swift Anti-Narcotics Raid

Acting on credible intelligence, a raiding team led by SI J.R. Krishna, In-Charge of Police Station Car Nicobar, conducted a successful anti-narcotics operation in Big Lapathy Village, Car Nicobar. The operation, carried out under the supervision of SDPO Mr. Solomon Samuel (DANIPS), resulted in the seizure of 76.6 grams of Methamphetamine, a commercial quantity of the narcotic.

During the raid, Mr. Henry Sanih (25), a resident of Big Lapathy Village, was arrested on the spot. Preliminary questioning revealed that he had found the contraband along the Big Lapathy seashore and intended to sell it for profit. A case has been registered against him under Section 22(c) of the NDPS Act, 1985.

The operation was closely supervised by Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District, and marks a significant step in Nicobar District Police’s ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug activities and ensure community safety.

Authorities have urged the public to immediately hand over any suspicious items found along the seashore and surrender any contraband recovered from the sea at Police Station Car Nicobar. Citizens are also encouraged to share information related to crimes or illegal activities by calling 112, 03192-265242/223265, or 9531856152, with the assurance that the identity of informants will remain confidential.
