The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has begun the online submission of application forms for Class X (SSE) and Class XII (SSCE) examinations scheduled to be held in February–April 2026 for private candidates, alongside the Board’s main examination.

According to CBSE, students eligible to appear as private candidates include those from the 2024–25 session who have been declared essential repeat or placed in compartment in the 2025 main or supplementary examinations (second chance compartment). In addition, candidates who were declared fail/essential repeat in the examinations held between 2020 and 2025, as well as 2024–25 pass-outs seeking to improve performance in one or more subjects, can also apply.

The online submission of application forms commenced on September 9, 2025. Private candidates from the Union Territory have been advised to complete their applications through the “Vyaktigat Pariksharthi” portal on the CBSE website (https://cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/cbse.html) by September 30, 2025, without late fee.

Candidates have also been urged to carefully read the instructions available on the CBSE website and keep necessary documents ready before beginning the online process. For assistance, the CBSE Helpline can be contacted at 1800-11-8002 between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM on working days.
