In a concerted effort to curb bootlegging and the illegal liquor trade, the Central Crime Station has ramped up their enforcement activities ahead of the upcoming elections in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Undertaking a strategic jungle search operation on April 7, 2024, in the Caddlegunj and Ograbraj area, the law enforcement team uncovered significant illicit activity.

Led by Inspector Girish Kumar, a dedicated team from PS Central Crime Station, comprising HC Baroi, PC Srinivas, PC Amose, and PC Chandran, meticulously executed the operation. Their search led to the discovery of 14 concealed tins containing approximately 195 litres of fermented solution (Lehan), a crucial component in the production of illicit liquor. Prompt action was taken to destroy the illicit substance.

In a simultaneous effort to strengthen their enforcement measures, multiple raids were conducted on April 6, 2024, resulting in the apprehension of two bootleggers identified as K. Mani, resident of Bhatubasti, and Shyamal Rao, resident of Calicut, near Pump House. During these raids, law enforcement confiscated 40 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), further disrupting illegal activities in the region.

The ongoing initiative spearheaded by the Central Crime Station underscores their unwavering commitment to upholding law and order by combatting illicit practices. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or unlawful activities to local law enforcement agencies.
