CHC Nancowry Conducts Successful Rally for 2nd Round of Intensified IEC Campaign 2025

In a strong push to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, the Community Health Centre (CHC) Nancowry successfully organized a rally as part of the 2nd Round of the Intensified IEC Campaign (IIC) 2025. The campaign, directed by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, coincided with International Youth Day.

The rally was led by Dr. Lt. Col. Nirmal Kumar Bajpai, Medical Officer In-Charge of CHC Nancowry, and initiated by Mohammed Hassan, Lab Technician at ICTC Nancowry. It saw enthusiastic participation from the Indian Coast Guard, CHC staff, local police personnel, and Anganwadi workers.

The initiative focused on spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS, including modes of transmission, preventive measures, and the importance of regular testing. It also aimed to address stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV, while promoting literacy on the HIV and AIDS (Prevention & Control) Act, 2017. The campaign further emphasized creating demand for testing and STI services and fostering inter-departmental collaboration to fight HIV/AIDS.

The rally drew a large crowd, with participants and onlookers showing strong interest and support for the cause. Coordinated efforts by all stakeholders ensured the smooth conduct of the event, making it a significant step toward community-level awareness and prevention.
