Chief Electoral Officer Holds Meeting with Nodal Officers Ahead of Lok Sabha Election 2024

In preparation for the upcoming General Election to Lok Sabha 2024, Mr. B S Jaglan, IAS, the Chief Electoral Officer of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, convened a crucial meeting on March 8th, 2024. The meeting, held in his chamber, saw the participation of various Nodal Officers tasked with overseeing critical aspects of election management.

The meeting aimed to streamline the efforts of the State Nodal Officers who have been appointed to ensure the seamless conduct of elections in the Union Territory. These officers will work closely under the guidance of the Chief Electoral Officer to monitor and manage the diverse activities associated with the electoral process.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Jaglan delineated the broad responsibilities assigned to the Nodal Officers during the electoral process. Emphasizing the need for effective coordination and monitoring, he underscored the significance of each officer’s role in facilitating a fair and transparent election.

Among the key areas discussed during the meeting were Manpower Management, Training Management, Material Management/Electoral Roll, Transport Management, Cyber Security, Law & Order, Voter Management, Security Plan, Model Code of Conduct, EVM Management, Expenditure Management, Ballot Paper/Postal Ballot & ETPBS, Media/Communication Plan, and Complaint Redressal/SMS Monitoring/Communication Plan/CVigil/IT & Voter Helpline/Computerisation.

The meeting saw the presence of several Nodal Officers, including Mr. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Azharuddin Zahiruddin Quazi, IAS, Ms. Nandini Maharaj, IAS, Mr. Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Mr. Abhishek Bhukal, DANICS, Mr. Vishwendra, DANICS, Dr. Prashant Kumar, DANICS, Dr. Utpal Sharma, SS(IT), Mr. V. R. Anand, DS(Fin), and Mr. Mohammed Sameer, Inspector, Cyber Crime.

The discussions held during the meeting are indicative of the meticulous planning and organizational efforts underway to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the electoral process in Andaman & Nicobar Islands as the country gears up for the General Elections.
