In a significant move towards strengthening the Digital India initiative, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, formally launched the integration of e-District Digital Certificates with DigiLocker at a ceremony held in the Conference Hall of the Secretariat today.

This digital initiative, spearheaded by the District Administration of South Andaman, aims to provide citizens with seamless access to essential government certificates through DigiLocker — a secure and paperless platform that enables users to access and share official documents digitally, eliminating the need to carry physical copies.
A total of 21 types of certificates have been integrated into the DigiLocker system, including Local, Income, Dependency, Family Member, Resident, OBC, EWS, Marriage Registration, Senior Citizen, ST Certificate, Firm Registration, Origin, Tribal Pass, Boat Registration, Society Registration, Mortgage Permission, Money Lending, and Earth Cutting certificates.
The District Administration reaffirmed its commitment to delivering fast, transparent, and paperless services to the public and encouraged all citizens to embrace digital platforms for availing government services.
